Who We Are

SPE Lagos Section 61 is a distinguished award-winning Section of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), representing a community of over 2,800 professionals and students in Lagos, Nigeria. As part of SPE's vast global network, we are committed to advancing the oil and gas industry with excellence and innovation.

Our Mission

To collect, disseminate, and exchange technical knowledge concerning the exploration, development and production of oil and gas resources, and related technologies for the public benefit; and to provide opportunities for professionals to enhance their technical and professional competence.

Our Vision

To be the most progressive, student-friendly and world-class young professional SPE Section enable the global oil and gas E&P industry to share technical knowledge required to meet the world’s energy needs in a safe and environmentally responsible manner

Our Strategic Objectives

Improve networking, knowledge sharing and collaboration amongst young professionals, oil and gas companies and affiliated higher institutions of learning in the Section. Increase the visibility of Section 61 both at the national and regional levels.
